SPORTS MOUTH GUARDS
SPORTS MOUTH GUARDS
Children can sustain dental trauma from contact sports or mixed martial arts. And this trauma may result in losing or dislodging their teeth. That’s why we recommend your child wears sports mouth guards when playing vigorous sports.
The Australian Dental Association recommends that children wear a mouth guard when playing:
-
Ballgames such as basketball, hockey, volleyball, rugby, football, and soccer
-
Violent sports such as boxing, martial arts, and wrestling
-
Outdoor sports such as skateboarding, skiing, skydiving, surfing, and snowboarding
-
Gymnastics
-
Racquetball
-
Track and field
-
Weightlifting
We can provide your child with a custom-made mouthguard to promote comfort and keep your child’s mind on the match. We particularly recommend those with fixed braces use a mouth guard.
